Fair use rationale for Image:Gran Turismo.png

Image:Gran Turismo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Page Rewrite

This page really needs to be redone, whoever wrote it takes very one sided views, on one hand the part about GT1 praises it as being greater than Jesus (a little rephrasing on my part) and in the criticisms someone commented on the exclusion of the Cien from the 500hp+ race in GT4 as outrageous. I've removed that because it's so ridiculous, however, the entire page needs complete rewording Pongley (talk) 21:59, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tagged the statements in criticism with [citation needed] until Wikipedia:reliable sources for every claim is provided. Remove those tags without providing well referenced sources will be reverted cause is violating Wikipedia:Verifiability. --PS3 Addict (talk) 23:28, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite and reformat underway

This page has been tagged for almost 2 years with corrections needed. I have started making changes by introducing a table format for the list of the games in the series. This models other long running console series. The table format eliminated a lot of content that can found on the article pages of each game.Only1true (talk) 03:17, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

– Primary topic by pageviews for the term "Gran Turismo". However, I have no objection to Gran turismo redirecting to Grand tourer if people think that it's the primary topic by longterm significance - but only for the uncapitalized, non-proper-noun version. Concerns and solutions.

I think it should stay currently as it is with all the information For Gran Turismo do the fact the history of it is very complex, and also it's involvement with Motorsports.

Lead section

  • I prefer the one that's been long standing Since it fits with wikipedia's manual of style.Though could you show on the talk page what it would look like if you kept the info, that is sourced while adding what you want?

I'm just trying to preserve the lead since it's been stable and there's been no edit wars or anything bad.

Here is an example of what you requested. Regarding your last point, a lead does not need to be preserved just because it has been stable and there have been no edit wars, as that does not mean that it cannot be improved. Carfan568 (talk) 18:39, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate you showing what it would look like with the sources, still in there and I get what you're saying. I think the original lead is best for the page.   • I think the more expansive version is better since it does a much better job of meeting the MOS:LEAD goal of summarising the body of the article with appropriate weight. The more brief version includes trivial details like the current sponsors of the Gran Turismo esports series and the fact that Mercedes used GT7 for their esports competition, while omitting much more relevant information such as the typical structure of the games' single-player campaigns, the type of features the games contain, and the critical reception of the games. I can understand what you're saying and your view point. I think the previous lead is in line with the manual of style where its precise and shows the nobility of Gran Turismo. How it's a driving simulator for consoles, with sourced information that shows it is used and recognized as a driving simulator.Shane O'Sullivan the 1 (talk) 19:45, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • My two cents: a single paragraph, eight-sentence lead is not an appropriate length to properly summerize the body of this article.
